Our client required us to collect the 10-15 most important news from the last 30 days about a specified company and deliver them in a media report by the deadline. Within a month, we produced reports on three different companies operating in Hungary. The complexity of the task was that we had to expand the list of domestic and international sources identified by the client according to our own experience and market knowledge. Additionally, the deadline was very tight and the client requested a very strict, information-focused news selection to avoid duplication.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, we were commissioned by the National Remembrance Commission (NEB) to search for newspaper articles on the trial of Ilona Tóth, convicted in relation of the Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956, mainly in the international press, on both sides of the Iron Curtain. The English, Italian, French, German, Romanian, Czech and Polish results of the research were translated into Hungarian and together with the original text of the articles, have been submitted to our customer.

One of our most prominent clients wanted to expand the 12 countries monitored to date by adding 3 more countries, the Baltic States. Once we had defined the client's needs, we simultaneously started to prepare the offer, set up the monitoring, define search terms, ordering the suppliers, launching a complex media monitoring including social media, all at short notice.
In addition, the selection of new vendors for news extraction was also key. Selecting, training and hiring translators and media extractors from the rare languages of Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian, and then managing them and making corrections in the early days, was a major challenge, while meeting tight deadlines and deliver reliable results. This was followed by the successful introduction of monitoring and news extraction in 3 Baltic countries, which feedback from the client has shown to be satisfactory.

The European Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) sent a fact-finding mission to Hungary in November, 2022, with the formally communicated aim of gaining an insight into the situation of education in Hungary. The EP’s Liaison Office in Budapest asked us to launch a short-term media monitoring project, collecting and sending them the Hungarian media coverage of the teachers’ protests that were in progress at the time of their visit. We configured our PressMonitor media monitoring system for the task, set new key words, search rules – anticipating the content of the news –, and set up a new monitoring feed, as well. We notified our external suppliers about the additional work, and the EP received the requested daily thematic reviews each morning during their stay in Budapest.
