We have participated in a conference organised by Republikon Institute (Budapest) titled ’Fake news in the region’. A conference was organised on TRIP boat with participation of national and international experts and journalists about the topic of fake news and its impact on the politics of Central and Eastern European Countries.
At the beginning of 2019, our company made the decision to embark on a great project: we started the preparations for a book about Hungary’s history from 1848 until nowadays from the perspective of western print media. Over the years we collected about 300 front pages covering Hungary. We selected the content from the most prestigious English, German, French and Italian language daily and weekly newspapers and magazines with the largest readership. Our corporate team translated these old newspaper articles to Hungarian. Acknowledged Hungarian historians were commisioned to write the chapters for our book about each historic era based on our translations. The book in progress will show through interesting stories and many illustrations how the image of Hungary evolved in the West during the 19th and 20th century.
TranzPress has compiled 250 historical front page from the western print media published between 1848 and 2019. Our objective is to reflect on Hungary's main events and personalities through the eyes of large circulation, international print dailies and magazines. Our aim is to show Hungary - "how the West saw her". Our authors are Hungary's top historians and political analysts: Ignac Romsics, Peter Tölgyessy, Robert Hermann, Ivan Bertényi, Tibor Valuch and Laszlo Eörsi. The team is supported by Ágnes Lampé, Máté Gali, Gábor Szalay-Berzeviczy and Csaba Kiss.
In January 2019 one of the world's largest and most prominent international financial organizations requested monthly reports from us on the Hungarian domestic affairs in English. The monthly report is done entirely in-house with a team of three; a translator, a project manager and an editor. In our work, we rely on PressMonitor, in which we update feeds on a monthly basis to reflect on the current developments of the Hungarian politics. It is not a simple media analysis: the client gets an overall political analysis of the Hungarian domestic affairs of the given month, grouped into 4-6 topics.
We prepare quarterly international media analysis on the Hungarian and international media coverage of HungaroControl Zrt. In the period between 1 October and 31 December 2017 we identified 235 Hungarian and 34 international pieces of news items. Passive media coverage accounted for 81% of the articles, while 19% of the coverage was due to pro-active media communication. In the monitored period, significant part of the news items (62%) dealt with HungaroControl in connection with its technological developments and innovations.
We prepared an international media report on the media coverage of the Winter Olympic’s Hungarian related events. During the one month period, we harvested over 8,000 domestic and international news items. Among the Hungarian related events, the first gold of the short track speed skating team, Ivett Tóth’s AC/DC figure skating performance and the outstanding performance of the Liu brothers created a buzz in international media which helped Hungary strenghtening its positive media image, while Elizabeth Swaney’s freestyle ski flop sent a message to Olympic organisations to revise its nomination procedures. The historic Hungarian gold medal made not only the content but also the making of the report a special experience.
We are tracking news items from the international economic and financial press in English with the help of complex search rules and intelligent indexing. The news content harvested give account of potential investments and developments in the CEE region and are to the benefit of investment and export promotion bodies of the Hungarian public administration.
